Neutrals

Neutral colors are decorating basics because they form the background against which the stronger colors in a given palette are viewed. Neutral means “without color” but often the shades of black, beige, ivory, taupe, grey, and white used as neutrals contain hints of underlying color. This is important to bear in mind when choosing complementary colors and when matching paint colors.
Take a look at some of our examples of neutral decor on our Flickr gallery.
